Sometimes I wonder whether I have any real intelligence or if I just have enough random bits of surface knowledge to bullshit my way through most things.

how fucked up is it to grow up being taught to fear men while shaping our bodies for their satisfaction????

There’s no place on earth with more magic and superstition mixed into its daily life than the Scottish Highlands.

"As the confines of the castle walls faded behind me like a bad dream, I took my first full breath in weeks. I had no idea where this journey would lead me; what opportunity might present itself. I could only hope it would bring me closer to the standing stones of Craigh nd Dun. If so, I was determined to reach them, knowing this time, I must not fail.”

Anonymous whispered:Well, the next 'Outlander' episode seems very intense. What do you like better? The books or the tvshow?

mrsassenach:

Right? I think

Is I like both equally too boring answer?

I will be the first to admit the first book is my least favorite I think because I had no real notion of what 17th century Scotland looked and felt like. Watching the tv show and seeing the beautiful landscapes and the terrible living conditions kind of enhanced the book for me. I think the tv show is able to outdo my brain visually and emotionally but I think the book will always have an edge because it gives you really great psychological  insight into the characters (particularly Claire) and the dialogue is some of the best ever written tbh, there are hundreds and hundred of pages of jamie x cliare talking and getting to know each other which could never be recreated on screen and I LIVE for those in this series.

…So.. Both?
